Anybody here have a Smittybilt XRC-8 (8K lb)? I just ordered one, because it has good reviews, and I think a pretty good bargin for a light duty. Its way too small for my Dodge Ram, but I am not using it for recovery. I am installing it in the bed under my bed mount tool box to help pull loads into the bed and/or my trailer etc. Does anyone here use one of these? I would be interested in input.

This recovery was done with and XRC8 and a snatch block. Only time I've used one. Seemed to work fine.

Im sure that is due to gear reduction, and probably where it gets it's power from. I think it's a 5hp motor. Cant remember what the motor was on my Warn 20 years ago, so not sure how to compare other than I paid twice as much for the Warn 20 years ago. It seems like a well built, heavy winch. I have it installed in the bed of the truck, but still need to install the battery feed and ground so I haven't used it yet. I read allot of good stuff about it at the price point I paid for it ($299 shipped) so looking forward in giving it a shot.
