I just have to brag a bit. I have the greatest kids (3 sons and 1 daughter). My middle son dropped by today to just tell me how much he appreciates me being in his corner all his life. He is learning disabled, and has some issues, and went the hard road in his younger years. He is now 25 and on the straight and narrow now for 5 years. He has went through drug addition, legal issues, etc, and I have always been tough but fair and listened to him, gave him advice, and never judged him for his issues, but helped him with them. Anyway, I did nothing more than any father would do for their kids. He has been successful the past several years in achieving dreams he has had that he never thought he would. He tanked me yesterday for being in his corner and helping him through some rough times and guiding him to reach his potential. He also knows I'm a gun guy. I been wanting a .45 for some time to go along with my P89. He bought a gun I have liked for many years, and just came by to present me with it. It is awesome, and now part of my arsonal. An SW1911PD. He told me it was for nothing more but a "Thanks Pops for being there for me all these years.." .Thanks kiddo... Wasn't necissary but I'll love it...
An awesome kid or what?

Good luck, maybe it will inspire him to appreciate what parents do.. lol.. I didn't mention, that he also gave me a Kimber .22 conversion for it to so it be adapted to fire .22LR in less than a minute, then back to .45. Nice, and appreciated as well, but he should have known I like the big lead, hahhah.. But, the Kimber slide, chamber & mag will be nice if I just want to go out in the woods and go postal, so it is a cool thing to have just to play around and waste some lead.

Man, what a great gift. It appears some thought went into this, which is the best part. Some great advise too. Enjoy it!!

Nice gun Tony. I picked up a Glock 21 last month. My damn son didn't buy it for me but I still love it.

Awesome .45
So is it a safe queen, or do you shoot it !!
I picked up a Springfield Armory XD .45 tactical a few years back. May use it for IDPA at some point when I start reloading .45

The gun store had the Para Ordnance 1911 SSP .45 on sale with some factory installed goodies on it, so I bought one. Pick it up this Sat.

Yeah baby...10 days and counting.
That is a very nice pistol. Sig Sauer is a high quality 1911 pistol, and it will shoot almost any type of ammo reliably. Aftermarket is full of 1911 parts, almost anything you could possibly want. I swapped the wood grips on my .45 to the Pearce checkered rubber grips. I like the tactile feel of rubber when I pull from a holster during IDPA matches. And it's a little more comfortable for CCW.
Also, Midway has SS 1911 mags on sale right now.
